A campaign to make Indore beggar-free — not by moving people along, but by getting them into government centres where they can learn a trade.
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development sets the eradication of extreme poverty as a key objective. Global extreme poverty had been falling — from 10.1 percent in 2015 to 8.6 percent in 2018 — until the Covid-19 pandemic pushed it back up from 8.3 percent in 2019 to 9.2 percent in 2020, the first rise since 1998 and a setback of roughly three years.
Within that, the trust works locally: sending people to government centres where they can build the skills to earn a living, and working against poverty and child abuse in the same movement.

Three things that would help, today
This campaign is about giving people a way out of begging, not moving them along.
Offer training or a job
The point of the abhiyan is skills and work. An employer willing to take one person is worth more to it than a donation.
Ring instead of giving cash
If you see someone begging, particularly a child or someone unwell, tell the trust where. That is the referral.
Support the training side
Tools, materials and the cost of a course. Ask the office what a placement currently needs.
