Mark the day that matters to you, among people who will remember it.
This is not a new idea the trust is trying out. More than 2,200 birthdays, around 795 wedding anniversaries and over 1,300 punyatithis have already been observed at the sevashram. Families keep choosing to hold the days that matter to them among these residents, which tells you what the place has become.
You can come and simply be there — that costs nothing and is worth the most. Or you can add a sponsorship to the day, so that everybody living at the ashram shares it. Both are welcome, and nobody is asked which one they chose.
If you live away from Indore, the trust will hold the day on your behalf and send you the photographs and a video. Several families abroad already mark a parent’s punyatithi this way.

What you can add to the day
Every one of these is optional. The trust does not publish a price for any of them, because it depends on how many are living at the ashram that month — ring and ask what today’s figure is.
Annadaan — one day’s meals
Breakfast, lunch and dinner for everyone at the sevashram, in the name of whoever the day is for.
Sweets and fruit
Mithai and fresh fruit distributed to every resident. The usual choice for a birthday.
Aarogya seva — medicines
A month of medicines, or a doctor’s round and health check for the residents.
Just be there
Come, sit, eat with them, hear their stories. No cost at all, and the thing they ask for most.

How the day actually goes
Nobody tells you this beforehand, so people arrive nervous. This is the whole shape of it.
- Before
A phone call
The ashram rings to confirm the date, asks how many are coming, and tells you what to bring — usually nothing.
- On arrival
You are introduced
To everyone, by name. Expect to be asked where you are from and whose day it is.
- The middle
The occasion itself
Cake and a song, or bhojan and a prayer. Residents join in — this is the part they look forward to all week.
- After
Sitting
The part that matters. Tea, conversation, and no hurry. Most families stay far longer than they planned.

Photographs
Sent to you on WhatsApp. If you could not come, this is how you see the day you paid for.
Book the day
Bring your birthday, your anniversary or your parents’ punyatithi to Dashrath Sevashram — and mark it with people who will treat it as an occasion.
This form does not store anything. It opens your own email app or WhatsApp with the message ready to send, so your details go straight to the trust and nowhere else.
